Yang's Gravitational Theory

Yang's pure space equations generalize Einstein's gravitational equations, while coming from gauge theory. We study these equations from a number of vantage points: summarizing the work done previously, comparing them with the Einstein equations and investigating their properties. In particular, the initial value problem is discussed and a number of results are presented for these equations with common energy-momentum tensors.     

关于一类波方程的非线性本征值问题的注记

本文推广[1]中关于问题[Ⅰ] 的无穷多对本征值,本征函数存在性定理到p>2的情形.当p=2时,所考虑的空间是Hilbert空间,可利用相应线性算子的本征函数展开;当p>2时,我们的工作空间是Banach空间.我们利用空间L~p和其对偶空间L~p(?)上的Hausdorff-Young不等式对泛函数估值,从而证明了相应的定理.     

The nonlinear boundary value problem for a class of integro-differential system

In this paper, using the theory of differential inequalities, we study the nonlinear boundary value problem for a class of integro-differential system. Under appropriate assumptions, the existence of solution is proved and the uniformly valid asymptotic expansions for arbitrary n-th order approximation and the estimation of remainder term are obtained simply and conveniently.     

Symmetric Variations of the Metric and Extrema of the Action for Pure Gravity

Symmetries of generalized gravitational actions, yielding field equations which typically involve at most second-order derivatives of the metric, are considered. The field equations for several different higher-derivative theories in the first-order formalism are derived, and variations of a generic set of higher-order curvature terms appearing in string effective actions are studied. It is shown that there often exists a particular set of solutions to the field equations of pure gravity theories, consisting of different combinations of curvature tensors, which satisfies the vacuum equations with cosmological constant. Implications of generalized symmetries of the field equations derived from the superstring effective action for the cosmological constant problem are discussed.     

Maximal subspaces for solutions of the second order abstract cauchy problem

For a continuous, increasing function ω: R → R \{0} of finite exponential type, this paper introduces the set Z(A, ω) of all x in a Banach space X for which the second order abstract differential equation (2) has a mild solution such that [ω(t)]-1u(t,x) is uniformly continues on R , and show that Z(A, ω) is a maximal Banach subspace continuously embedded in X, where A ∈ B(X) is closed. Moreover, A|z(A,ω) generates an O(ω(t))strongly continuous cosine operator function family.     

Some Remarks on a Nongeometrical Interpretation of Gravity and the Flatness Problem

In a nongeometrical interpretation of gravity,the metric g(x) = + (x)is interpreted as an effective metric, whereas(x) is interpreted as afundamental gravitational field, propagated in spacetime which isactually flat. Some advantages and disadvantages of suchan interpretation are discussed. The main advantage isa natural resolution of the flatness problem.     

宝塔烷电子结构与张力的ab initio研究

利用MNDO程序优化出宝塔烷、宝塔烷双正离子及宝塔二烯的构型参数。从头算的电荷分布及分子轨道均表明: 宝塔烷与其价键异构体宝塔二烯性质相近。双正离子的中间四个碳原子则形成了一种与环丁烷双正离子类似的四中心双电子大π键。张力研究表明, 宝塔烷的键张力要比不能稳定存在的小螺桨烷小得多, 说明了宝塔烷骨架的刚性及稳定性。     

Divergence-free wavelet solution to the Stokes problem

In this paper, we use divergence-free wavelets to give an adaptive solution to the velocity field of the Stokes problem. We first use divergence-free wavelets to discretize the divergence-free weak formulation of the Stokes problem and obtain a discrete positive definite linear system of equations whose coefficient matrix is quasi-sparse; Secondly, an adaptive scheme is used to solve the discrete linear system of equations and the error estimation and complexity analysis are given.
